 The 2010 Annual men's Retreat will be held at the Lake Brownwood Christian Retreat Center  

With a Theme of "Go and Tell", two of our CCSW region's preachers will be keynote speakers. These are:
         Rev. Dr. Bryan Feille. Bryan is the Harold Glen Brown Lecturer in Pastoral Ministry, Director of the Doctor of Divinity Program and Dean of Students at Brite Divinity School at TCU. Bryan has been a popular keynoter at this retreat and is often recommended to come back every year. Before joining the Brite Faculty, Bryan served as Senior Ministry at South Hills Christian Church in Fort Worth for 12 years.
        Rev. Kyle Dennis. Kyle has been in ministry with both youth and adults since 1999. He became the Senior Minister at First Christian Church in Huntsville in 2001. He was ordained in the Christian Church in 2006. Kyle has been a keynoter/workshop leader for Eighter's camp( a program of the Christian Church(DOC) in sexuality education) since 2005. He has participated in and led camps for the HPA/TRA, NEA/NTA and BBA/CPA and in the Tennessee region.

The 6:30 PM Friday evening through Sunday morning worship event will also feature uplifting singing led by Rev. John Malget, educational workshops, heart-warming sharing, fellowship and spiritual renewal. Additionally, on Saturday afternoon, there will be a Dialogue with Rev. Dani Cartwright, our Regional Minister.

October 21-24   

Regional Assembly 

The 2010 Regional Assembly will be held in Midland/Odessa on October 21-24.   Hotel reservations can be made at the Hilton Midland Plaza by calling 1-800-722-6131 and asking for reservations for these dates with the “Christian Church in the Southwest.”  A nightly cost of $109 has been arranged, which includes breakfast for hotel guests.
       Speakers for the weekend include:  Suzanne Stabile – a lay counselor and ministers’ spouse (who was a excellent stand-in speaker for TCU Ministers Week), Paul Nixon, and a surprise preacher on Thursday evening.   Ken Medema, a blind composer and musician, will serve as liturgist with music for the event from Friday – Sunday morning.    Highlights include workshops on the topics of Basics for Congregational Life, Who are We as Disciples, Spiritual Formation and Crossing Boundaries;  an event for Youth Ministers;  mission work in the Midland and Odessa communities;  worship together on Sunday morning with Paul Nixon, preaching, author of I Refuse to Lead a Dying Church and Finding Jesus on the Metro
       The Assembly begins with worship Thursday evening at First Christian Church, Odessa and concludes with worship on Sunday morning at the Midland Convention Center across the street from the Hilton hotel.
